Hey there! Sorry, I’ve been M.I.A for a while. I started school last week and am still getting used to having 5 classes (the norm is 4, since my school is on trimesters). It’s quite hectic, but I think I can do it. Since I’m commuting from home this year, I wanted to schedule my classes in such a way that I commute as few days as possible. So on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have 4 hour and a half long classes. It really isn’t that bad, except for the fact that by my third class, my knee hurts so badly from having my legs bent for so long.
You see, I was diagnosed with Patella-Femoral Syndrome and IT Band Syndrome after my knees started bugging me. The cause? Too much exercise and too little rest. Oh, and running on concrete with shoes that were probably not meant for my feet. The effect? Extreme pain in my left knee after long periods of sitting (read: 6 hours of college lectures in one day).
I went to P.T., but that clearly did no good. I did all the exercises, rested, iced and foam rolled, but still no help. I just accepted the fact that my knees are going to be a pain in my booty till the day I die. But I am convinced that there is some sort of cure or remedy that can help my knees, so that I can live pain-free and be able to run like I used to.
This was basically an overview of my injuries, and I hope to get more in detail in future posts. Until then, I’m going to watch Teen Mom to do some homework.
